Between Books Art Book Fair

Meine Publikationen werden während der diesjährigen Between Books Art Book Fair in der Kunsthalle Düsseldorf am Tisch von malenki.net zu sehen sein.

Kommen Sie an den Tisch von malenki.net und entdecken Sie eine große Auswahl an Kunstbüchern, Zines und anderen Drucksachen im Bereich der Fotografie.

Die Kunstbuchmesse wird von einem spannenden und interaktiven Rahmenprogramm begleitet: In zahlreichen Workshops können Besucher eigene Zines gestalten, die Funktionsweise eines Riso-Druckers erlernen, ein Notizbuch binden, Schreibtechniken erlernen oder eigene Sticker herstellen. Performances und Vorträge verraten, wie schöne Bücher entstehen, wie man einen eigenen Verlag gründet, welche Verbindung Musik und Worte haben und was rebellisches Publizieren bedeutet. Und in der Between Books Bar im Salon des Amateurs können Besucher bei Musik und Getränken in ihren neuesten Errungenschaften stöbern oder sich mit anderen Buchbegeisterten austauschen.

Between Books ist sowohl ein Treffpunkt für den Diskurs über (Kunst-)Bücher, alternative Publikationsformen und das Publizieren als Praxis als auch ein Ort zum Entdecken, Stöbern und Kennenlernen.

The art book fair is accompanied by an exciting and interactive supporting programme:
In numerous workshops, visitors can create their own zines, learn how a Riso printer works, bind a notebook, learn writing techniques or make their own stickers. Performances and talks will reveal how beautiful books are created, how to start your own publishing house, the connection between music and words, and what rebellious publishing means.
And at the Between Books Bar in the Salon des Amateurs, visitors can browse through their latest acquisitions while enjoying music and drinks or chatting with other book enthusiasts.

Between Books is both a meeting place for discourse on (art) books, alternative forms of publication and publishing as a practice, as well as a place to discover, browse and get to know each other.

Cyanotype is one of the oldest processes for producing stable photographic images. The astronomer and natural scientist Sir John Herschel developed the process in 1839.
The cyanotypes of botanist Anna Atkins (1799-1871) are particularly well-known.

Raum für drastische Maßnahmen Berlin

Sammlung Lindhorst-Emme — “Eine »Sammlung« – dieses Wort trägt etwas Wertschätzendes und Wertendes in sich. Es wird ja nur gesammelt, was gefällt, erfüllt und auf eine eigene Art glücklich macht.

In meinem Falle treffen alle drei Faktoren zu. Alle meine bisher gesammelten Werke verbinde ich mit Geschichten, Emotionen und vor allem dem Gefühl, diese schönen Objekte besitzen zu wollen um mein Umfeld und meinen Alltag damit zu gestalten und Sie mir jeder Zeit anschauen zu können.

Die Logiken des Sammelns gehen mit dem Erwerb und letztendlich auch Besitz begehrlicher Dinge einher. Dabei ist es für die Sammelnden unerheblich, ob die Sammlung durch Kauf oder nichtkommerzielles Zusammentragen aufgebaut und erweitert wird. Ausschlaggebend sind die emotionalen und rationalen Verbindungen zu den Dingen, die Gründe des In-Besitznehmens. Sei es durch Linien des Erinnerns, der Nostalgie, der Freude oder auch der Wertsteigerung.
Ein Großteil der Arbeiten, die hier gezeigt werden, ist aus einem Tauschgeschäft hervorgegangen. Als Grafikdesigner habe ich das Glück, sehr häufig mit FotografInnen und KünstlerInnen zusammenarbeiten zu dürfen und gelegentlich kommt es dazu, dass meine Gestaltungsarbeiten, zumeist in Buchform, nicht ausschließlich in Geldwerten, sondern in Teilen mit einem Werk honoriert werden. Ein geringerer Teil der Arbeiten wurde aber auch klassisch angekauft. Auf diese Weise sind mittlerweile 27 Fotografien, 4 Prints, 2 Gemälde, 4 Zeichnungen und eine Skulptur zusammen gekommen, die in dieser Ausstellung den Weg aus meinen vier Wänden, in die Öffentlichkeit finden.

Der Ausstellungstitel »Stand der Dinge« bezeichnet das Gezeigte in einem Ist-Stand der bisherigen gesammelten »Dinge«. Neben den Werken der KünstlerInnen werden zudem auch teilweise die entstandenen Bücher aus den »Tauschgeschäften« zu sehen sein.”

“In der historischen Bibliothek der Hochschule Düsseldorf zeigt der Photo Book Salon ein vielseitiges Programm rund um das Photo Buch: mit der Ausstellung des Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Awards werden die 35 Bücher der Shortlist präsentiert. Der in 2013 gegründete Award würdigt das Fotobuch mit drei Hauptkategorien: First PhotoBook, Fotokatalog des Jahres und PhotoBook des Jahres.
In einem Buchsalon mit ausgewählten europäischen Fotobuchverlagen bekommt der Besucher den Zugang zu aktuellen Publikationen und eine gute Möglichkeit des Austausches mit den Verlagen.
Ein spannendes Vortragsprogramm, welches sich dem Fotobuch, als beliebtem Medium, Sammlerobjekt und narrativem Kunstwerk widmet, ergänzt den Photo Book Salon.”

“In the historic library of the Hochschule Dusseldorf (Dusseldorf University of Applied Sciences), the Photo Book Salon presents a versatile program around the photo book: 35 books of the shortlist are presented in the exhibition of the Paris Photo-Aperture Foundation PhotoBook Award. The award, which was founded in 2013, honors the photo book with three main categories: First PhotoBook, Photo Catalogue of the Year and PhotoBook of the Year.
In a book salon with selected European photo book publishers, the visitor gets access to current publications and a chance for an exchange with the publishers. The Photo Book Salon is complemented by an exciting program of lectures devoted to the photo book, as a popular medium, collector’s item and narrative work.”

Durch ein Arbeitsstipendium des Kunstvereins Röderhof lebe und arbeite ich seit Anfang September hier im Künstlerhaus in Röderhof / Sachsen-Anhalt.

Die offenen Ateliers geben die Möglichkeit einen näheren Einblick in die Lebens- und Arbeitssituation hier am Kunstverein und eine Vorschau auf die entstehenden Arbeiten und Arbeitsprozesse der Stipendiaten zu bekommen.

“Der Shifting Focus Fotobuchmarkt präsentiert Fotobücher unabhängiger Verleger und Künstler sowie exklusive und seltene Fotobücher. Ein Programm mit Vorträgen über Self-Publishing, die Bedeutung und Kunst des Fotobuchs sowie Signierstunden bietet die Möglichkeit, sich direkt mit Verlegern und Künstlern auseinanderzusetzen.

Die Veranstaltung findet in den 250 Quadratmeter umfassenden Projekträumen des renommierten Kunstquartiers Bethanien statt, einem Ausstellungsraum für zeitgenössische Kunst, der aktuelle gesellschaftliche und kulturelle Fragen in den Blick nimmt.
